Complete your online certification

The Cricut Maker is available for all ORL cardholders to use. You must first complete an online certification course before you can reserve and use this tool independently: https://my.nicheacademy.com/orlbc/course/24288.

You will be asked to create a Niche Academy account (requires email address) to view the full course.

Material notes

Bring your own materials to be cut on the machine. The library will not be providing materials for patrons at this time.

Browse and reserve our maker stations and tools

Go to Spaces, our online booking calendar, to browse and reserve our maker stations and tools. You will be asked to create a Spaces account (and confirm your email address) in order to complete your first booking request. 

Online reservation is available for maker stations at the Westside Learning Lab, the Downtown Kelowna Branch, Lumby Branch, and Vernon branch.  Please contact Golden Branch or Revelstoke Branch directly to book this maker station.

Q: What materials can I use on the machine?
A: Here are few materials you can be cut on the Cricut machine and can be found at your local craft store: 

  • Paper
  • Cardstock
  • Poster board
  • Fabric
  • Leather
  • Vinyl
  • Felt
  • Kraftboard
  • Basswood

Q: Can I use my own device (laptop, tablet) to create and design?
A: Yes! You will need to download the Cricut application and sign in with your personal Cricut design account.

  • Complete a Maker Waiver
  • Verify your identity to staff with valid library card and photo ID.
