Changes to Loan Periods & Late Fees

• No more Late Fees! Overdue fees have been removed. 
• After 30 days, overdue items will be charged a replacement fee; fees for lost or damaged items still apply.
• Loan periods for most physical items are now 4 weeks.
• DVDs in our Feature Films collection can be borrowed for 2 weeks.
• Books in our QuickRead collection will go back to a 1 week loan beginning January 2024.

• 28 Day Loans.
• Holds allowed.

• 7 Day Loans.
• No Holds.
• No Renewals.

Book Club Kits

• 42 Day Loans.
• Holds allowed.
• No Renewals.

Magazines

• 28 Day Loans.
• No Holds.
• No Renewals.

Library of Things Kits

• 28 Day Loans for most Kits.
• 14 Day Loans for Home Energy Kit, Carbon Dioxide Monitor Kit, PLay Boxes, Sphero Bolt & iPad.
• Holds allowed. 
• 1 Renewal if no one is waiting.

eBooks & eAudiobooks

• 7, 14, 21 Day Loans (set by the patron).
• Holds allowed.
• Renewals available if no one is waiting.

Interlibrary Loans from other BC Libraries

• Loan periods are set by the lending library.
• Holds are placed by ORL staff.
• Renewals are decided by the lending library, check with ORL staff.

If no one is waiting for an item, most items can be renewed twice at your local library branch or online from your catalogue account.
