Human Resources Assistant
Permanent Part-Time

The Okanagan Regional Library, Head Office, has an immediate opening for a permanent part-time Human Resources Assistant.

The Human Resources Assistant reporting to the Director of Human Resources, provides administrative support and coordination for various human resources department programs and initiatives. This includes, recruitment, systems administration, employee relations, benefits and HR administration support.

The Human Resources Assistant facilitates the recruitment process by creating postings, reference checking, hiring, and preparation of new employee orientation packages.  Proficiency using a complex HRIS system.  Assists in maintaining accurate employee data records for the HRIS system, Responds to employee and management inquiries. Supports the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of Human Resource programs and initiatives in areas such as performance management, rewards and recognition, training and development and employee communication. The HR Assistant is expected to update, maintain and report on all Human Resources systems. Compiles and analyzes reports for quarterly, annual and special projects, maintain and update Human Resources internal and external websites.   

Diploma in related program with emphasis on human resources, human resources information systems, business and/or finance.

Payroll experience an asset.

Related Experience
Two (2) years’ experience working in an HR environment.  

Knowledge of HR practices and Collective Agreements
