The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) is looking for an enthusiastic and organized individual to join our Marketing Department as a Graphic Designer for a 1-year Term. This role supports the production and coordination of marketing materials that promote library services across our system.

About Okanagan Regional Library

Located in beautiful British Columbia, ORL stretches from the Rocky Mountains through the wine and fruit producing lands of the Okanagan Valley to the South Okanagan and west through the Similkameen. It is a vibrant library system, with 30 branches, serving 26 diverse communities, over 300 employees, and a service population of over 400,000 people.

The Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications the incumbent will:

  • Coordinate production workflows for print and digital marketing materials, ensuring timely processing and delivery across the library system.
  • Prepare and package promotional materials according to established brand guidelines, with attention to quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Manage logistics and communication with internal teams and external vendors to track requests, clarify requirements, and organize distribution.
  • Maintain inventory and support shipping of materials to branches, including basic troubleshooting of print equipment and supply needs.

The incumbent exercises some independent judgement and adheres to established Okanagan Regional Library policies, procedures and practices.

Qualifications will include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) experience in graphic design and print production.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based publishing tools.
  • Strong project coordination and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design principles and print production methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving needs.
  • Experience operating business machines and shipping equipment is an asset.
  • A valid BC Driver’s License and ability to occasionally lift/move boxes of materials.

Pay Rate: $30.89 - $32.42 per hour
