Newborn to 2 years old

Reading Level: Listens with short attention span. 
Collection: Junior Board Books. 
Example: Brown bear, brown bear what do you see? 

 

2 to 5 years old

Reading Level: Looks at pictures and listens more intently.
Collections: Junior Picture Book, Junior Fiction Kit. 
Examples: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Animal Boogie.

 

4 to 6 years old

Reading Level: Looks at pictures and listens more intently. Starts to recognize words and simple sentences with controlled vocabulary.    
Collections: Junior Picture Books, Junior Fiction Kit (Phonics Kit), Junior Easy Fiction Step 1 (red sticker).
Examples:  Bob Books, I Broke My Trunk!.

 

7 to 12 years old

Reading Level: Reads simple sentences with controlled vocabulary. Understands a little more. Feels more confident.
Collections: Junior Easy Fiction Step 1 (red sticker), Junior Easy Fiction Step 2 (yellow sticker), Junior Easy Fiction Step 3 (green sticker), Junior Easy Nonfiction. 
Examples: We Are In A Book!, Amelia Bedelia series, Nate The Great series, Life Size-Zoo.

Reading Level: Reluctant readers and readers new to chapter books. 
Collections: Junior Chapterbook Fiction (blue sticker), Junior Picture Plus, Junior Graphic Novel.
Examples: Junie B. Jones series, Mucumber McGee series, Babymouse series.

Reading Level: Reads full length books. 
Collections: Junior Fiction, Junior Nonfiction.
Examples:  Harry Potter series, LEGO Play Book. 

 

13 to 18 years old

Collections: Young Adult Fiction, Young Adult Nonfiction, Young Adult Graphic Novels.
Examples: The Hunger Games trilogy, Unbored, Ghostopolis.
