We have a variety of bookable and rental spaces in the Rutland Branch. All meeting spaces have free Wi-Fi. Some have presentation equipment available.

Group Study Room

Available during branch open hours only. Room as is – no office supplies, A/V equipment or additional furnishings provided.

This room is free, and can hold up to 10 people, and can be booked up to 1 month in advance.

• One booking per day (max 4 hours) by person or group
• 3 bookings per week by person or group
• Bookings can not be made day-of

Community Room

Setup and take-down (exception of A/V equipment) is the responsibility of the renter.

Rutland branch has a Community Room available for rent. With a theatre style set-up, the room has a maximum seating capacity of 50.

• The room rents for $20.00 + tax per hour for the first 3 hours and $10.00 + tax per hour for each additional hour.
• Bookings are not confirmed until the rental fee has been paid.

We can provide an introduction to the library or tailor the visit around a project/assignment.

The Rutland Branch features 13 public internet terminals with word processing capabilities available for 1 hour of internet time. Use your library card to log in or speak with staff to receive a temporary computer pass. Extensions may be granted provided there are enough free terminals available. Staff can give limited assistance to technical inquiries.

Unlimited Wi-Fi access is available during open hours with you own device.

Printing and photocopying is $0.25 per page, black and white only. This branch now offers wireless printing using your own device via Princh.

Scanning to email is available and is free of charge.

No fax services are available.

The Rutland Branch can provide exam invigilation.

Branch Librarians and/or Supervisors will be available to invigilate exams Monday – Saturday at designated times.

If you’re interested in learning how to use a Prusa 3D printer or a Vinyl Cutter the Rutland library can help!

New user? Your first appointment will be a certification appointment. This takes roughly 90 minutes to get you trained up on how to use the equipment.

Certified users of other ORL makerspaces are welcome to jump right in and book time right away.

Please note that makerspace users 13 and under require adult supervision for the duration of their appointment. Additionally, makerspace users under 19 years old require a guardian to co-sign the makerspace waiver and agreement.

Makerspace bookings are made by calling the Rutland library at 250-765-8165.

Tuesdays, 6pm – 7:45pm. Suitable for Cricut usage or Makerspace Certification, or very small 3D prints.

Every other Saturday, 10am-2pm. Suitable for 3D printing and Cricut usage, as well as Makerspace Certification (10-12)
