This summer, travel to the top of the world without leaving home. As part of Summer Reading Club 2026, the ORL is inviting school-age explorers to join Arctic Explorers, a free live online presentation from Ocean Wise. From remarkable wildlife to breathtaking landscapes, participants will discover how plants, animals, and people have adapted to thrive in one of Earth’s most challenging environments. Whether your child loves animals, science, geography, or simply discovering new places, this interactive adventure offers a fascinating look at Canada’s Arctic and beyond.
What Will You Discover?
During this engaging 45-minute presentation, participants will:
- Explore Arctic ecosystems and landscapes
- Meet incredible northern wildlife and learn about their unique adaptations
- Discover how Indigenous communities have lived in the Arctic for thousands of years
- Learn about food chains, survival strategies, and life in one of the planet’s most extreme environments
- Ask questions during a live presentation with an Ocean Wise educator
Designed for school-age participants, the program introduces important science and environmental concepts through fun, age-appropriate activities and discussion.
