We’re very excited to announce the next chapter for our North Shuswap community library. On 11 March 2026 at 11:00 a.m., the ORL proudly celebrates the grand re-opening of its permanent North Shuswap Branch in Scotch Creek.
Since August 2023, the ORL has provided library services from a series of temporary locations. While those spaces kept books and programs circulating, this custom-built branch now offers something more lasting: a permanent new home for readers, learners, and community members across the North Shuswap.
The new space includes a public meeting room for gatherings, learning opportunities, and local collaboration, along with a dedicated staff office to support day-to-day service.
This re-opening is also a testament to the commitment of branch staff who ensured that library services remained available through challenging circumstances. Their dedication helped sustain a vital community hub when it was needed most.
Community members are warmly invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and enjoy cake beginning at 11:00 a.m. Whether you’ve been visiting the temporary locations or are stepping inside your local library for the first time, this celebration belongs to you.
