The Kelowna Friends of the Library are back with their biggest fundraiser of the year: the 36th Annual Great Okanagan Book Sale, happening October 14–17, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Kelowna. The sale supports branches throughout the Okanagan Regional Library system, helping fund Summer Reading Club activities, guest speakers, events, and library enhancements.
Thousands of Books and Plenty of Bargains
With more than 25,000 items expected, there will be plenty to explore. Most adult and young adult books are just $2, while children’s books are a bargain at $1 each. You’ll also find large print books, specially priced good-as-new items, puzzles, and games.
And don’t worry about arriving on the first day. Fresh books will be added throughout the sale, so there will be new treasures to discover whenever you visit. It’s a great opportunity to fill your shelves for the colder months, discover an unexpected read, or start thinking about books and puzzles for holiday gifts. Both cash and card payments will be accepted.

Wednesday, October 14: 2–8 pm
Thursday, October 15: 9:30 am–8 pm
Friday, October 16: 9:30 am–8 pm
Saturday, October 17: 9:30 am–2 pm
Please note that the parking entrance and exit at the church are one way. Enter via the west alley by the church and exit via the east alley by the hall.
Your Purchases Support ORL Branches Across the Region
A great book sale does more than send you home with a new stack of reading.
Proceeds from Kelowna Friends of the Library book sales help support the ORL throughout its service area. Following the Friends’ 2025 sales, $18,000 was contributed to the ORL for system-wide projects and Summer Reading Club presenter tours. The Friends also contributed $5,000 each to the Downtown Kelowna, Mission, and Rutland branches, along with $700 each to 24 ORL branches outside Kelowna.
That means every bargain book, puzzle, or game you pick up helps the Friends continue supporting library programs, resources, and services in communities across the region.
Have Books to Give? Donations Are Welcome!
The Great Okanagan Book Sale depends on donated books, puzzles, and games, and the Friends are still collecting items for this year’s sale into the first week of October. Donations are also accepted year-round for future fundraising book sales.
