Great libraries are created by great people, and the ORL is fortunate to have many dedicated staff members making a difference in their communities every day. This month, we’re delighted to celebrate one of them. Dawn Wierzbicki of the Enderby Branch was recently honoured with the City of Enderby’s Civic Appreciation Award in recognition of her contributions to the community.
For many residents, Dawn is a familiar face and a passionate advocate for learning, connection, and community engagement. Through programs, partnerships, outreach initiatives, and day-to-day service, she has helped strengthen the library’s role as a welcoming gathering place where people can discover new interests, build relationships, and access valuable resources.
Anyone who has worked with Dawn knows the enthusiasm, creativity, and care she brings to everything she does. Whether planning a program, supporting a local organization, helping a patron find the perfect resource, or exploring new ways to connect people with library services, her commitment to the community is always evident.
“Dawn’s recognition is a reflection of the care, creativity, and dedication she brings to her work every day,” said Mark Reinelt, Director of Public Services for the Okanagan Regional Library. “We are incredibly proud to see her contributions recognized by the City of Enderby.”
The recognition also highlights the important role libraries play in the communities they serve. Dawn’s award is a wonderful example of that work in action. Congratulations, Dawn, on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for everything you do for the Enderby community and for the ORL.
