Summer may be sailing by, but there’s still plenty of time to make a splash in the Okanagan Regional Library’s Adult Summer Reading Club. If you’ve been participating all summer, now is a great time to check your progress, complete a few more activities, and make sure you’re collecting every ticket you’ve earned. If you haven’t joined yet, don’t worry—there’s still time to dive in before the challenge ends on 14 September.
Explore Five Reading Zones
This year’s challenge includes activities and reading lists inspired by different ocean zones. Complete as many books and activities as you like, and explore the challenge at your own pace. The reading lists below were curated by ORL librarians and feature dozens of great recommendations inspired by each zone. Prefer to chart your own course? Any book, audiobook, ebook, or graphic novel counts toward the challenge.
Twilight Zone – Magical Creatures and Fantasy
Midnight Zone – Across the Universe
Intertidal Zone – Movement and Motion
Have You Earned All Your Tickets?
Adult Summer Reading Club rewards curiosity in all its forms. Tickets can be earned by reading books, completing activities, joining the challenge, and filling out the Adult Summer Reading Club survey. Every ticket you earn can be allocated toward the prize draws that interest you most. Don’t forget that completing the survey earns an additional eight tickets, making it one of the easiest ways to boost your chances of winning.
Still Plenty to Explore
This year’s Under the Sea challenge includes activities inspired by different ocean zones, from fantasy and science fiction adventures to outdoor exploration, local history, travel, creativity, and lifelong learning. You can participate at your own pace and choose the activities that appeal to you most. Whether you’re reading a book from one of our curated lists or picking something entirely different, every completed title counts toward the challenge.
Reading Is Its Own Reward, but Prizes Are Great Too!
Participants can allocate their earned tickets among a variety of prize draws, including:
- Kobo Libra Colour
- Shokz Headphones
- LEGO Tranquil Garden Set
- FoldyLock Bike Lock
- Coffee Kit with locally roasted beans, French press, grinder, and mug

Remember to use the white boxes on your tracker to indicate how you’d like your tickets allocated among the available prizes.
