Halfway through summer and looking for your next adventure? The Okanagan Regional Library’s Adult Summer Reading Club is still making waves, and there’s plenty of time to jump in. Whether you’ve already finished a stack of books or haven’t opened your summer reading list yet, the challenge is designed to fit your summer pace. Every book you read, activity you complete, and survey response you submit can help you earn tickets toward this year’s awesome prize draws.
Any Book Counts
One of the best things about the Adult Summer Reading Club is its flexibility. Reading a mystery on the beach? That counts. Listening to an audiobook on your commute? That counts too. Exploring a cookbook, graphic novel, biography, or nonfiction title? Absolutely. There are no required reading lists and no assigned titles. Read what interests you, in whatever format works best for you.
Explore Five Reading Zones
This year’s challenge includes activities and reading lists inspired by different ocean zones. Complete as many books and activities as you like, and explore the challenge at your own pace. The reading lists below were curated by ORL librarians and feature dozens of great recommendations inspired by each zone. Prefer to chart your own course? Any book, audiobook, ebook, or graphic novel counts toward the challenge.

Beyond the Page
This year’s Under the Sea challenge includes dozens of optional activities inspired by imagination, exploration, history, movement, and discovery. You might visit a library branch you’ve never explored before, identify constellations in the summer sky, learn something new through one of the ORL’s online resources, take a walk in your neighbourhood, or dive into a fantasy novel from one of the challenge booklists. The goal isn’t speed. It’s curiosity.
Earn Tickets Your Way
As you participate, you’ll earn tickets that can be assigned to the prize draws that interest you most. Save all your tickets for one grand prize or spread them across several draws. The choice is entirely up to you. This year’s prizes include a Kobo Libra Colour, Shokz headphones, a LEGO Tranquil Garden Set, a FoldyLock bike lock, a locally sourced coffee kit, and several gift cards.
There’s Still Plenty of Summer Left
The Adult Summer Reading Club runs until 14 September 2026, giving you lots of time to read, explore, and earn tickets. Whether you’re relaxing by the lake, travelling across the province, or enjoying a quiet evening on the patio, bring a good book along for the ride.
