I already have a library card. Do I need an eCard?

No. Your valid ORL library card provides full access to library collections, programs, and services.

What is an eCard?

An eCard is a virtual library card that provides instant access to the ORL’s digital collection—including eBooks, eMagazines, streaming movies, research tools, and learning resources.

Who can sign up?

Anyone living in the ORL service area is eligible for a free eCard.

How do I sign-up?

What personal information does ORL store?

When registering for an eCard, the ORL securely collects:

  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Address, including postal code
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Library card number
  • Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Can I register my child?

Yes. Parents or guardians can sign up children under 13 for an eCard. A parent/guardian section appears during registration.

How long is my eCard valid?

eCards are valid for 8 months. To continue using library services, visit any ORL branch with ID to upgrade to a full-access physical card.

 

What if I lose my eCard number?

Unfortunately, eCard numbers can’t be replaced. Be sure to save yours in a safe place.

What can I access with my eCard?

With an eCard, you can:
– Download ebooks and e-audiobooks
– Read e-magazines and e-newspapers
– Access online learning tools
– Stream e-movies

eCard users can borrow up to 5 digital items at a time.
