ORL E-Cards

What is an e-card, and who can get one?

An e-card is a temporary virtual library card for residents of the ORL service area aged 13 or older.

E-cards provide instant access to the ORL’s Digital Collection and Resources, including ebooks, e-audiobooks, e-magazines, streaming movies, music, and e-learning resources.

Parents or caregivers can register children under 13 by adding their own contact details to the e-card Registration Form.

How do I register for an e-card?

Please complete our online Registration Form and create a PIN. Once registered, record your e-card number in a safe place. Replacements are not available.

How long is an e-card valid?

E-cards are valid for eight months.

E-cards are intended to provide immediate, temporary access to our Digital Collection and Resources; they are not permanent substitutes for full library memberships.

Please visit any ORL branch with ID showing your name and local address to upgrade to a full library membership for complete borrowing privileges.

What personal information does the ORL store?

The ORL collects and protects only the personal information needed to provide library services, in accordance with British Columbia’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and our Privacy Policy.
