Returning Items

Return materials to any ORL branch, regardless of where they were borrowed.

Late Fees

The ORL does not charge overdue fines.

If an item remains overdue for 30 days beyond it’s return date, the account will be charged the replacement cost of the item. Replacement charges also apply to items that are lost or returned damaged.

Patrons are responsible for materials borrowed on their card or on the library cards of dependants, and for any charges related to lost or damaged items.

Lost or Damaged Items

If an item is lost or returned damaged beyond repair, the replacement cost of the item plus a processing fee will be charged. ORL staff determine whether an item requires replacement. The library does not accept donated replacement copies.

If a lost item is later found in good condition, it may be returned within six months of the replacement charge being added. When returned within this period, the replacement fee will be waived or refunded.
