The ORL’s Salmon Arm Branch and BC Libraries Present invite you to an in-person and Livestreamed author talk with Elamin Abdelmahmoud, CBC host and editor of Elbows Up! On Canadian Resistance. This thought-provoking collection brings together some of Canada’s most insightful voices to consider how our national identity and shared sense of community evolve during periods of challenge and change.
Join us for a lively and wide-ranging discussion about the making of this new collection of important non-fiction, the context behind it, and how moments of national crisis can reveal collective strength.
Elamin Abdelmahmoud is the host of CBC Radio’s pop culture show Commotion, the founding co-host of the Party Lines podcast, and a past contributor to The National’s At Issue panel. His writing has appeared in Rolling Stone, The Globe and Mail, and more. He is also the author of the bestselling memoir Son of Elsewhere.
