Wondering how to join the ORL’s Summer Reading Club? Good news—it’s easy, peasy, totally free and super fun! And no, you don’t need a library card to participate… but why not get one when you visit us for SRC?
Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: Drop by any ORL branch starting June 23 and pick up your Reading Tracker.
Step 2: Choose books that interest you—graphic novels, audiobooks, or backyard bug guides… this summer is all about you!
Step 3: Track your reading with a Tracker created just for your age group:
- Preschool Read-to-Me Club (Ages 0–5) – with a grown-up helper
- Summer Reading Club for Kids (Ages 5-12) – for busy bookworms
- Colour Your Summer Teen Challenge (Ages 13–18) – teen independence, same great rewards
All reading counts: comic books, picture books, classic 19th Century episodic doorstoppers like Oliver Twist—and of course, ebooks on your tablet at the beach… or campground… or grandparents’ house!
Every completed record earns a shiny Summer Reading Club medal, plus a chance to win great prizes.
And don’t forget to catch magician Leif David on tour at the ORL. His interactive, laugh-out-loud magic show is a Summer Reading Club highlight for all ages—just check your branch schedule to join the magic.
