Flipster gives ORL cardholders instant access to a growing collection of digital magazines on computers, smartphones, and tablets. Read online through your browser or download magazines to the Flipster app for offline reading.
Reading Magazines in Your Browser
You can read Flipster magazines directly in the browser on your computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. A Wi-Fi connection is recommended for the smoothest reading experience.

Signing In and Opening a Magazine
Step 1
Open Flipster Digital Magazines and sign in using your library card number (no spaces).
Step 2
Browse the collection and select a magazine cover or click Read This Issue.
Step 3
The magazine will open in a new browser tab. Use the viewing tools on the right-hand side of the screen to:
- Zoom in or out
- Change page views
- Navigate articles
- Access additional reading options
Reading Older Issues
Want to browse back issues?
Step 1
Open the latest issue of a magazine.
Step 2
Select All Issues from the right-hand menu. Some magazines include archives going back to 2014.

Using the Flipster App
The Flipster app lets you:
- Download magazines for offline reading
- Switch to text-only reading mode
- Use text-to-speech for supported articles
Downloading the App
Download the free Flipster app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Supported devices:
- Apple devices running iOS 10 or newer
- Android devices running Android 5 or newer
Signing In to the Flipster App
Step 1
Open the app and tap Get Started.
Step 2
In the search bar, type: “Okanagan.”
Step 3
Tap Log In beside Okanagan Reg Library.
Step 4
Enter your library card barcode and PIN, then tap Sign In.
Downloading Magazines
Step 1
From the Explore screen, tap the download icon beside a magazine issue.
Step 2
Downloaded magazines will appear on your My Shelf screen. Some magazines may include expiry dates. If an issue expires, you can download it again later.
Reading Magazines in the App
From My Shelf, tap a magazine to begin reading. You can:
- Swipe left or right to turn pages
- Tap the Table of Contents icon to jump between articles
- Use Full Screen mode for distraction-free reading
- Switch to Text View for simplified article reading without ads or page layouts
To return to your downloaded magazines, tap My Shelf.
Using Text-to-Speech
Flipster also includes a text-to-speech reader for supported articles.
Step 1
Open an article and tap Text View.
Step 2
Tap the speaker icon.
Step 3
Press Play to hear the article read aloud.
When finished, tap Cancel to close the reader.
Finding Older Issues in the App
To browse available back issues:
Step 1
From the Explore screen, tap the information icon beside a magazine title.
Step 2
Browse and download available older issues.
