Some books are destined for a second chapter. This June, the Kelowna Friends of the Library invite readers to discover pre-loved books, puzzles, and games while helping fund the programs and services that make the library such an important part of community life. It’s a win for readers, libraries, and books looking for their next home.
Proceeds from every sale help fund Summer Reading Club, year-round programs for children, teens, and adults, as well as special workshops, author visits, Makerspaces, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiatives throughout the ORL.

Great Reasons to Browse and Buy
The Kelowna Friends of the Library’s fundraising efforts continue to have a meaningful impact. Following the success of the Fall 2025 Great Okanagan Book Sale and additional fundraising activities, the organization contributed more than $18,000 toward system-wide ORL projects. They also provided $5,000 to each of Kelowna’s three library branches and distributed special one-time gifts directly to every branch outside Kelowna.
Looking to Donate?
The Kelowna Friends of the Library accept donations of books, puzzles, and games year-round. Volunteers open their sorting and storage location on Westlake Road in West Kelowna every Friday from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. (except on sale Fridays).
