Libraries grow with their communities in many ways: through new ideas, shared experiences, and the steady support of people who believe in what they offer. The Okanagan Regional Library is grateful to the Friends of the Library for their recent donation supporting branches across the system. Their generosity will see the Kelowna Downtown, Rutland, and Mission branches each receive $5,000, while every other branch will receive $700.
This is an especially meaningful contribution from a Kelowna-based group, reflecting the strong, ongoing relationships between volunteers and ORL branches. It also highlights the wider impact of local generosity, support that extends far beyond a single community and into every branch across the ORL system.
The Friends of the Library are particularly interested in supporting children’s services, collections, and programming. In many cases, donations like this are directed toward these priorities, helping expand materials for young readers, enhance programs, and support meaningful library experiences across branches.
To the Friends of the Library: thank you for your continued generosity and for helping strengthen library services across the region.
