From beach reads and backyard page-turners to audiobooks on road trips, summer has a way of creating a little extra space for stories. The Okanagan Regional Library’s Adult Summer Reading Club is back for its sixth year, and we’re inviting readers across the region to dive into an ocean of books, activities, and discoveries.
Running from 15 June to 14 September 2026, this year’s challenge follows our Under the Sea theme and offers plenty of ways to participate. Read, complete activities, earn tickets, and choose which prize draws you want to enter along the way.
How It Works
The Adult Summer Reading Club is designed to be flexible and fun. Participate online through Beanstack or pick up a paper tracker from your local branch.
Earn prize draw tickets by:
- Reading books
- Completing themed activities
- Filling out the Adult Summer Reading Club survey
- Joining and completing the challenge
Any book counts. Any format counts. Novels, biographies, graphic novels, audiobooks, ebooks, and nonfiction all qualify.
Readers can earn up to 55 tickets throughout the summer. Every ticket you earn can be allocated toward the prize draws that interest you most. When you’re ready to submit your entries, use the white boxes on your tracker to assign tickets to the prizes you want to win. Put all your tickets toward one dream prize, spread them across several draws, or create your own strategy. The choice is yours.
Explore Five Reading Zones
This year’s challenge includes activities and reading lists inspired by different ocean zones. Complete as many books and activities as you like, and explore the challenge at your own pace. The reading lists below were curated by ORL librarians and feature dozens of great recommendations inspired by each zone. Prefer to chart your own course? Any book, audiobook, ebook, or graphic novel counts toward the challenge.

Reading Is Its Own Reward, but Prizes Are Great Too!
Every ticket you earn can be allocated toward the prize draws that interest you most. This year’s prizes include:
- Kobo Libra Colour (approximate value $250)
- Shokz Headphones (approximate value $200)
- LEGO Tranquil Garden Set (approximate value $150)
- FoldyLock Bike Lock (approximate value $150)
- Coffee Kit with locally roasted beans, French press, grinder, and mug (approximate value $100)
- Two Canadian Tire gift cards ($50 each)
- Three Indigo or local bookstore gift cards ($50 each)

Important Dates
Adult Summer Reading Club runs from 15 June to 14 September 2026.
Completed paper trackers must be returned to your local branch by 14 September 2026 to be entered into the prize draws. The participant survey will be available from 1 August through 14 September and is worth eight bonus tickets.
Prize winners will be contacted by the end of September.
