Vernon Friends of the Library Book Sale Returns!

Clear a little space on your shelves. Actually, clear a lot. The Vernon Friends of the Library Book Sale is back, and the only thing bookworms love more than reading books is buying them.

Returning to the Schubert Centre, this much-loved event has been bringing readers together for 37 years, making it one of the largest book sales in the Okanagan Valley. It’s a place where longtime collectors, casual browsers, and curious newcomers all find something worth taking home.

Expect tables filled with fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, and a few unexpected finds along the way. It’s the kind of event where you come in for one title and leave with a stack.

Beyond the books, the sale is a celebration of community. The Friends of the Library play a key role in supporting the ORL through their efforts, helping fund programs, services, and enhancements that benefit readers across the region. Every purchase contributes to that work, turning great reads into meaningful impact. Whether you’re searching for a hidden gem, building your home library, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, this is one of those events that keeps people coming back year after year.

Interested in being part of it all? The Vernon Friends of the Library are always looking for volunteers to help bring events like this to life.
