Something big is making waves at the ORL. Summer Reading Club 2026 is on its way, and this year’s theme is Under the Sea.
Launching system-wide on Monday, June 15, 2026, this beloved annual program invites children and families to dive into a summer of stories, imagination, and discovery.
A Journey Through the Ocean
This year’s adventure is inspired by the many layers of the ocean, with weekly sub-themes drawn from its fascinating zones:
Sunshine Zone – Sharing Our Light
Twilight Zone – Magical Creatures and Fantasy
Midnight Zone – Across the Universe
Abyssal Zone – Limitless Possibilities
Hadal Zone – Ancient Worlds
Intertidal Zone – Movement and Motion
Open Ocean – Adventure Awaits
From shimmering surface waters to the mysterious ocean floor, children will travel alongside playful, curious, and occasionally spooky sea creatures as they work toward their summer reading goals.
Get Ready to Dive In
Summer Reading Club is more than a reading challenge. It’s about sparking imagination, building confidence, and making reading part of the season’s best memories. Whether children are exploring fantastical twilight creatures or charting adventures across the open ocean, every page turned is part of the journey.
Keep an eye on the ORL website and your local branch for registration details, events, and special activities as June approaches. Summer Reading Club 2026 is going to be a swimming success!
