The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) Board of Trustees gathered for its second regular meeting of the year on May 21, 2025, where members reviewed the 2024 Annual Report and approved key financial documents for the year ending December 31, 2024.
The meeting began with the presentation of the 2024 Audit Findings Report and Audited Financial Statements by Jennifer Saville of MNP. The Board voted unanimously to approve both the year-end financials and the Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) Report, confirming the ORL’s commitment to responsible fiscal management.
CFO Jeremy Feddersen also delivered a quarterly financial update, noting balanced fiscal performance across the system and stating, “The ORL remains in a solid financial position. In 2024, in an effort to enhance the experience of our patrons, we made meaningful investments in community spaces, programming, and staff—all while maintaining fiscal responsibility.”
Following financial approvals, the Board received the 2024 Annual Report, presented by the ORL’s Marketing Department. The report was met with enthusiasm and showcased a year of growth, innovation, and record-breaking library attendance.
Highlights from the ORL’s 2024 Annual Report include:
– 11,297 programs delivered to more than 209,000 attendees
– Over 2.1 million physical items borrowed, plus 1.27 million eBook and eAudiobook checkouts
– 8,139 children joined the 2024 Summer Reading Club—an 8% increase over the previous year
