Friends of the Library
Sorrento's Friends of the Library group was formed in 2002 under the umbrella of the Salmon Arm, Friends of the Library group. There are 12 volunteers that help out with the Book Sales in Salmon Arm. The Sorrento's Friends of the Library is now call South Shuswap Friends of the Library.
The Book Sales are fundraisers for future purchases which include a special table to display a rock collection at the Sorrento Library. We have purchased 2 lounge chairs from the "Friends of the Library" fund which are situated in the magazine area. The group also provides funds for special library programmes. The amount of funds for Sorrento Library, gained from a Book Sale is calculated by the number of hours Sorrento volunteers work during that time.
South Shuswap and Salmon Arm Friends of the Library will be holding their next meeting on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the boardroom of the Piccadilly Mall.
