Valentines-for-Veterans

Join an annual Valentines for Vets campaign and bring a smile to a Veteran on Valentine’s Day. Create a Valentine’s Day card for a veteran living in long-term care facilities across Canada.

Create a greeting card size card for a Vet:

  • Include a personal message or poem
  • Sign your name, you can write about yourself, but do not put a date, address or phone number
  • Avoid language or images that relate to violence, death or illness
  • Please do not use sparkles or bulky materials
  • Do not include candy, chocolates or gifts

Here are a few sample messages:

  • “Roses are red, you’re number one.
Thank you for all that you have done.”
  • “Thank you for your service. I feel very grateful for the freedom we have today.”
  • “I hope your day is filled with love, thank you for keeping everyone safe.”

Make as many Valentine’s Day cards as you wish.  Challenge your friends and family to also participate.

Please take your cards in to your local library where they will be forwarded to Judy at the Kelowna Branch and then distributed to Veterans living in long-term care facilities for Valentine's Day.
