Mission Library Open on Sunday

by ORL Marketing | Jul 07, 2017
People asked for it, and we are delivering. Beginning Sunday, July 30th Mission Library will be open every Sunday from 11 am – 3 pm, and on Wednesdays, it will remain open until 8 pm.

Thanks to the Mission Library's location in the Capital News Center and its proximity to the H2O recreation complex the Library continues to be one of the busiest branches of the ORL. The demand from the community for more time and resources is apparent. On average 26,000 items are checked out monthly, an increase of approximately 6% over 2016. We are also seeing about 12,000 people per month coming to the branch for programs, events and resources. ORL is always welcoming new members and in June alone Mission Library signed up 585 new members.

What it means is that people will have more time to find their favourite novels, magazines, books and materials. More time for kids and adult programs, computer & internet access. Come and take advantage of the study spaces and kids area or just sit down next to the fireplace, read and relax.

ORL is constantly reviewing how we can best serve all the communities, and extending the hours of operation at the Mission Library is an excellent example of that process. ORL strives to provide the best possible service to the people, organizations, and communities. We look forward to seeing Kelowna residents taking advantage of these new times and opportunities.
