Okanagan Regional Library is opening a second location on the Westside.

Although it is still unnamed, the renovations have started, furniture and materials have been ordered, and spirits are high. The tentatively named [Westside Learning Lab] is scheduled to be open in late February and is located in the Okanagan Lake Shopping Centre,  #216 – 525 Highway 97 S, West Kelowna, BC.

The focus of this new location is on learning, technology, and community partnership and will benefit many people and organizations on the Westside. The Westside Learning Lab will feature bookable community space and meeting rooms for events, programs and gatherings. A key component of the Learning Lab will be the maker space that will enable people to learn and use technologies related to 3D printing, material design, crafting, coding, robotics, electronics and more. A sound booth will also be available for recording audio projects such as family stories, practicing musical instruments, recording podcasts and conducting interviews online.  This location will feature a small collection of materials and just like any other ORL branch, all library users will be able to pick up holds and return books at this location.
