Peachland Library Update

by ORL Marketing | May 04, 2017

The Peachland Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library is currently temporarily closed for repairs. Due to a recent incident involving a car, the building sustained a significant amount of external and internal damage. We are working closely with the building owner to ensure that we have the library up and running as quickly as possible. We are also taking steps to have the areas of the Library that have been minimally affected by the incident open before completion of the renovations.

During the temporary closure of the Peachland Library, patrons are welcome to make full use of the Westbank or the Summerland branches or any other branch that is convenient for them. Patrons may return, reserve, and pick up items at those or any other ORL location. We also encourage people to utilize our online resources through the e-library at orl.bc.ca that feature electronic versions of books, magazines, newspapers as well as movie streaming and educational services.

We understand that it may be inconvenient for people to travel to other branches. Peachland residents do not need to worry about returning items that may be overdue; late charges will not be applied.

The Library staff are very grateful for everyone's patience, understanding & support. We received an overwhelming amount of support from the community, and we look forward to re-opening the branch for all to enjoy.
