October is Library Month in Canada and has been proclaimed so by the BC Government. Library Month is a chance to focus on celebrating the great work libraries and staff do every day, as well as participate in the 10th anniversary of the Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) challenge. On October 24th, all British Columbians are invited to drop everything, put down their work and turn off computer screens so they can read a book, magazine or newspaper for 20 minutes.

If you don't have something to read, we certainly can help! We're celebrating with a giveaway all about discovery. We have a signed copy of local author Alix Hawley's award-winning book about Daniel Boone, "All True Not a Lie In It", which is the book currently being featured as UBCO's OneBookKelowna.

To enter, simply visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/OKRegLib and leave a comment on the post answering this question: "What is the best thing you've discovered at your library?" We'll pick a winner on Wednesday, October 19.
